Nesse meio tempo, a preceptora das princesas confirma ao seu filho Dominique (Guilherme Cabral) seu romance com Pedro, e revela que seu pai Eugênio (Thierry Tremoroux) sempre soube. No entanto, Tonico começa a rondar e se aproximar do menino. É então que acende o alerta vermelho para Luísa e Pedro, que se preocupam com a possibilidade de Dominique revelar seu romance. O vilão consegue manipular o menino e invade a casa de Luísa, encontrando sua correspondência com Pedro nas cenas do capítulo 146, no ar na terça-feira, 26.
Em êxtase o vilão planeja derrotar, de uma vez por todas, o Imperador do Brasil. Desesperada, Luísa descobre que sua correspondência com Pedro foi furtada. Mas, não demora muito tempo para a Condessa descobrir o paradeiro de sua carta. Tonico vai ao encontro de Pedro na Quinta e o chantageia na frente de Luísa e Teresa (Leticia Sabatella), e Isabel (Giulia Gayoso) ouve. Ao descobrir que Pedro e Luisa são amantes, Isabel fica desolada. Enquanto isso, Tonico exige o fim das investigações contra ele, além de um cargo de senador.
Tonico perde provas do romance de Pedro e Luísa em ‘Nos Tempos do Imperador’
Mas, não é só de más notícias que sobrevive o folhetim de Alessandro Marson e Thereza Falcão. Na trama das seis da Globo. Mesmo sofrendo chantagem Pedro garante a Teresa que não cederá as exigências de Tonico. Contudo, insatisfeito o deputado decide publicar as cartas em seu jornal. No entanto, um misterioso incêndio é provocado na sede do periódico, nas cenas do capítulo 148, previstas para irem ao ar na próxima quinta-feira, 27.
Em fúria, Tonico exige que Borges descubra quem ateou fogo em seu jornal. Além disso, para alegria geral do público a derrocada do vilão começará e ele será acusado de corrupção na câmara.
Samuel, Pedro, Teresa, Augusto e Leopoldina recolhem provas contra Tonico
